Nordre Skole-Viborg, Denmark

Nordre School is the coordinator of the project. The school is situated in Viborg, in the middle of Jutland in Denmark. Viborg municipality has around 100.000 inhabitants and around half of them live in the town.  There are around 600 pupils in our school covering classes  0-9, including special needs and sports talents-classes. There is an afternoon club for children in classes 0-3. This is our 5th European School Partnership and we are very motivated towards international school cooperation.

Brekkuskoli, Akureyri-Iceland

Brekkuskoli is a partner of the project. Brekkuskoli is one of  eight schools in Akureyri which is the biggest town outside the capital area with 18000 inhabitants.
The number of staff at Brekkuskoli is around 75.  We have 490 students (age 6-16) from all social classes. Our policy is to integrate all students into normal classes where their special needs are met. Brekkuskoli is a pioneer in using ICT in teaching, especially for students with learning disability and well equipped for teaching all creative subjects.

Bl├╝cherschule-Europaschule, Wiesbaden-Akureyri

Blücherschule - Europaschule is situated in the outer westend of Wiesbaden.  Around 400 children from 32 different nations  and aged 6-10 study at our school. There are 32 teachers including Turkish, Portuguese, Italian and Greek language-teachers. There is an afternoon club at the school with various activities. Our main focus is on intercultural and social learning.

Ysgol Morfa Rhianedd, Llandudno-Wales

We are a Welsh primary school with 123 pupils between the ages of 3 and 11 years old.  The school is the designated Welsh language primary school for the town of Llandudno and the surrounding area.  We have 5 classes and a Special Educational Needs unit located at the school. We try and give our pupils a wide range of opportunities to further their knowledge and experiences of foreign countries and their traditions.  We are very proud of our Welsh cultural heritage and traditions and we welcome the opportunities for our pupils to learn about the traditions and languages of other countries. 

CEIP Tomas Ybarra, Tomares-Sevilla, Spain

CEIP Tomás de Ybarra is a public school situated in Tomares, 4 km away from the capital city of Seville, Andalusia, in Spain. Tomares  municipality has around 24.000 inhabitants.
Our 800 pupils are aged from 3 to 11 years old. We have several programmes of inclusion in our school. CEIP Tomás de Ybarra carries out different education programmes: Bilingualism, Opening plan and Gender Equality and we foster the CLIL methodology.  Every year the school is approved and gets a stand for the Seville Science Exhibition (thanks to the work of one of the teachers).

 

IC Toscanini, Casorate Sempione-Italy

The Istituto Comprensivo Toscanini is composed by eight schools. It is located in Lombardy, in the southern part of Varese near Milan. The Toscanini students are from 3 to 13 years old. In the institute school there are about 1700 students and 140 teachers. Some children have special needs (behavior and learning difficulties), so we have special plans for them. About 10% of the students are children of immigrants and  we have a special  project to learn the Italian language and culture.
